Farm Store Assistant

We are seeking a full-time Farm Store Assistant. This is a public-facing, customer service position, operating the farm store from Open to Close. Weekend work is required.

Essential Job Functions Include:

Maintain the farm store: restocking, cleaning, organizing, receiving deliveries, etc.
Learn and effectively share information about our cheeses, products, and farming practices.
Providing friendly customer service
Position will build up to assisting Farm Store Manager with orders
Ideal Qualifications:
18+ years old
Able to be on their feet for most of the day
Work uses the following motions: bending, standing, squatting, and reaching
Can lift 50+lbs (intermittently)
Receiving, pricing, and stocking deliveries
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidays as needed.

Employment Classification:

Year-round, full-time salaried position

Cheesemaker Assistant

Do you want to work on an organic-regenerative dairy in the heart of the Mad River Valley? Come be a part of turning our delicious milk into award winning cheeses! We are a small, family run dairy and cheese making operation.

This job offers opportunities to work with our lead cheesemakers on all aspects of cheese production. The position combines time and duties spent in cheese production, cellar affinage, and more.

A desire to learn and interest in cheesemaking are a must! Experience is preferred but not necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in a career in cheesemaking or food production. We hold ourselves, and are held to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and food safety in our industry. General Duties Include:

Typical work week: approx. 35-40 hrs/week.

The cows don't stop making milk, so everyone here has to be willing to work a weekend day. We do our best to give everyone some holidays off but a willingness to work others is necessary.

It's important to be prepared for work that is repetitive, requires serious attention to detail, is physically demanding, and entails lots and lots of cleaning and sanitation. However, at the end of the day, you can be proud of being part of a small farm and larger food system that takes care of the land, animals, and us too!
